Closing this thread until you learn not to ever end your first posts with "Discuss"

(yes I know you'll just re-open it, I'm kinda hoping you do since this is an interesting snippet)

The Aero theme on a small Notepad window reminds me of a small hand-held calculator for some reason. Perhaps because it is lacking the usual translucency effect that lets windows behind it bleed through the glass.

I also don't like that font at all. I prefer Verdana or Consolas in my text editors.

:Owow... we must nab these for our own devious purposes! *crazy laughs*

Seriously though, would be interesting to see what they contained.
Can I ask where you got this from?

It's from source code, so I can't technically tell you where I got it.

I think the point is if all you are going to say is "discuss" and don't even care to offer any thoughts yourself (not even in your next post it seems) then why bother in the first place and why should anyone else bother discussing.

waterfield = tc_hydro?

That's what I thought.

I posted it because I thought that people would want to see it. Calm down. Discussion of why I posted it = over.

Send valve an e-mail saying something along the lines of "I was haxing my way around an illegal version of TF2, when I say some map names that I didn't recognise. Can I steal them to have a look around?"
I'm sure that'd go down a treat :p

"Owaka" means goodbye or farewell in Japanese (not used like sayonara though) for what it's worth.

Uptown|Well?
Speedway|Granary?
Dustblow2|Dustbowl
Owaka|Gravel Pit?
2Fort|2fort
Avanti2|?
Rock3|?
Waterfield|Hydro

Just guessing. :V

Hmm, Avanti and Rock are from TFC. I guess they didn't make it. In other 'command' files, I've found reference to Warpath, too.

googled map names and found this (2005). Seems like this information is from hl2 beta. So, version of game and maps were very old. But there weren't such maps in hl2 beta...
And why tf2 mapping world discuss this only right now? Rare info?

Isn't warpath in raising the bar, they talk a little about tf2 I think. in its uber-early stages of course.

I'm surprised nobody's hopped on the immaturity train with Dustblow. I'd like to see what Owaka looks like.

You know, in the several years I lived in Japan I never once heard a person use the word "Owaka". Is it slang? Maybe a dialect?

[ame]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Owaka[/ame] that suggests maybe a forest themed map? I dunno, but look at badwater, dustbowl and all that, all real place names...
