Killcam is killing me!

Having a bit of a problem with TF2 when I die, the game crashes exactly when the killcam zooms into my killer, giving me the 'hl2.exe has encountered a problem etc.' message.

However, when I get killed, the enemy's name is shown as %ENEMYNAME%, and I recently added a custom sound to the killcam (which I have removed, and it still crashes).

Any help?

How did you install the custom sound? You might have deleting an essential game file on accident when you installed/deleted the sound.

Try verifying local game content (right click TF2 and go to properties). If that doesn't work then... reinstall (but don't worry stats are not locally saved, so you'll keep everything).

Just saved it into the sound folder... when it was there the sound would work, but it still crashed.

Yeah, I should reinstall. Good thing I have the CD for quicker installation...

It happens to me as well, and a lot of other people. I don't have anything custom, I did however notice it seems to only happen to me when the killcam zooms inside brushwork or something >.>
