Just wondering if anyone always works on one specific area at the start of their map? Like always starting on the spawnrooms.

I always start from the spawnroom of usually BLU when they're attacking (such as Payload of A/D) but I also do it for CTF and Arena maps, just a habit of mine.

I always do Red. But Never Ever, finish my maps, A little Habit of mine.

First of all make a sketch on a paper, in msPaint/Photoshop etc.
Than start blocking out your map in hammer.

What either Paper,Photoshop or MSPaint, Like 3 sheets, 1 for lower levels, Vice versa.

Depends, sometimes I just feel like making a staircase in Hammer and then I decide to continue, and maybe make a full map.

You shouldn't use any strict pattern unless it is what naturally happens and works for you. It's advisable to start with plan drawing, but if you are just mapping on something that doesn't really need it, for example if you don't really know where it is going, then don't bother. There is no correct place to start blocking out either, just chuck some brushes in and don't be afraid to delete them later. Also it's generally best to start very basic and gradually develop a layout, however if you again don't know where it is going, just make linking corridors and rooms span off from the first room.

Always a sketch first. Then (for symmetrical maps, like CTF, KOTH, etc):

Center area->move toward blu base->copy for red base

For asymmetrical, like A/D and payload:

Blu Spawn->Onward
