Detail Trees

I was wondering if anyone here had thoughts on using detail trees in tf2 skyboxes.
My thoughts are that they could be used for the swamp theme to end the level without using cliffs or a ridiculous amount of props and still get something like this.

If you have no idea of what I'm talking about look at the trees in the background of this picture.

those trees in the background are just grass details in the skybox but with tree textures.

I know how to do it I'm just wondering if anyone thinks its a good idea and would fit in tf2?

Yes, it's called the Swamp Skybox Cards from the Swamp Theme Expansion.

Its not skybox cards he means, he wants trees as detail models specified in the texture, just like grass is done.

And i don't only mean using this for swamps, I was just giving an example for how it could work.

Keep in mind the limitations of detail sprites are more evident on larger objects. For example, that log in the middle looks horrific.
