Where do you start building from?

I ask this cause I know everyone has different preferences or ways of working.

Every time I make a scrap map, I start from the center, then build around it. Though that ends up making every 'project' I make into an arena or koth map and symmetrical at that. CTF maps can sorta follow the symmetrical system as well I'd think.

a lot of the guys here simply draw it out on paper, then start from what they consider the most interesting part of the map. A layout can normally be thrown out in a day if it's basic/small enough. So starting on a speficic part of the map doesn't really come to mind, just the whole layout is the start of the map and it develops from there.

If it's A/D though, i would start from the spawn and go from there, it kinda makes sense.

In A/D, I'd start at BLU spawn. In symmetrical maps, I start at the center.

Pretty much these. There arent much other ways that make much sense.

I usually focus on the part that I visualise first. If I have an idea for a control point or mabye a spawn then that's where I start from.
