Also lowered the floor thus raising the roof. Heavys can now make sweet love to their guns in comfort.

I'm sorry, Ill have a download and images posted by the end of the day, the new version took longer then i hoped to compile and i had to head out to work.

In fact its still compiling... hope its done before it get home!

Added some screenshots, Have a weird lighting glitch i need to figure out...
Half of the maps displacements are lit darker... weird....

While I agree with TPG on all 3 counts, I gotta say, this map is pretty super cool looking otherwise. Can't say much about the layout yet. I'll take a look when you post a download.

1. Too many trees it will kill peoples FPS.
So far nobody has complained and i have testers with a wide range of systems. It is still definatly something i am looking to change though.
2. That rock texture is for wall only it looks super ugly on the ground.
I originaly had a different texture for ground and for walls but it wasnt working out, i kept the same alpha map though. Its another thing on my todo.
3. Your rock wall textures look stretched.

Can't say much about the layout yet. I'll take a look when you post a download.

I was hesitant to post a download due to the ugly and bothersome lighting glitch but ill have one posted soon.

Things to note.
I know the spawn room is ugly. (hence why i didnt post a pic of it)
I know that the main room is campable. I want to see how it works as is and i have a fix planned already.

Few things:

You need directions of some sort. Signs, arrows, anything. It IS pretty straight forward, but it'd still be nice to have.

Is there any reason why the spawn room is so cramped? The ceilings are incredibly low (can't even jump.)

Some of your trees do not completely touch the ground.

Also feel like there should be some more elevated areas towards the rear of the map.

Otherwise, I love the feel of the map. Very nature-y. It's quite pleasant.

I plan on putting some in, just not sure exactly what and where, i want to keep the naturey feel of it.

yeah... i need to redo the spawn rooms...
They are like that because it wasnt the foucs of the map. It was originally an experiment in displacements, originally you started in a shack but i felt that i needed to change it up some.

well i didnt want you to be able to dominate the playing field too much from the back. the back area is designed to be a good defensive position but not an EPIC one.
Otherwise, I love the feel of the map. Very nature-y. It's quite pleasant.

The wooden signs would fit in just fine as directions.

Another thing I might suggest is perhaps an underground route of some sort from one side of the field to the other or another building towards the middle that can be used for cover.

What wooden signs? the only wooden ones i found were big ones that have A B and C on them.

Ive thought about it and i want to do some playtesting like it is now. I have a plan for some changes if it doesnt work out. I rather not put any structures because i would like to keep it foresty but i will give it up and put something in if necessary.

It's more of an issue when there's a bunch of people in a small area, with lots of explosions and such going on.

The only thing I have to add for the map from the screenshots is that it seems a bit difficult to tell where the playing field is, since the outside of the map looks exactly like the inside. It looks great, and I'm sure it's not an issue while playing. It also seems like a very big, wide-open map.

the place he was talking about was the spawn rooms, they have very low ceilings.

The only thing I have to add for the map from the screenshots is that it seems a bit difficult to tell where the playing field is, since the outside of the map looks exactly like the inside. It looks great, and I'm sure it's not an issue while playing. It also seems like a very big, wide-open map.
theres no pictures of the inside of the map. Navigation is preaty easy and straight forward except for when you first leave the bunker, it takes a moment to get oriented at first but that will be solved with the billboards (THANK YOU BTW!)

I hope to do some testing preaty soon...

On another note i am redoing the spawnrooms, dropping it down enough to be comfortable.

Search "billboard" in the model viewer. There's a Red and a Blu arrow on either side, flip and rotate accordingly.

Unfortunately it comes in only one flavor, Blue.

Though it is a snow map... i wonder if it will confuse people...

EDIT:

DERP. flip it around and its red :O
