Texture Thick Jungle Trees

Hello, I'm in need of a new texture that is vital to the completion of a map I'm working on.

I need some way of making barriers that would fit in a jungle environment, so I figured the best way would be trees.
When I thought of that, I was given two choices:
1.) Use 9001 of the trees in Spike's Jungle Pack and hope I don't take forever to compile...
or
2.) Ask you fine folks if you'll make me a texture that looks like impassibly thick jungle trees.

As far as colors go, I need it to fit in with the regular trees of Spike's Jungle Pack, as well as with the dark green grass that has a blend with Egypt's sand.
(So, pretty much dark green.)

Thanks in advanced. :D

You mean like skycards right? I'm on it.

Or I'll do a texture anyway. Someone else has to model it to be a skycard.

EDIT: I have a skycard texture, anyone wanna model it up?

No need to make it a model. Turn the thing into a displacement and shape it around your map the way you want it. Valve did this in L4D, as an example, when you're in those forests.

Here are some old pics i still had in my dropbox folder:

Hope this helps!

Edit: and ingame it can look really good:

I'm fairly certain those would look much worse in TF2 due to the high amount of lighting.

In fact even in L4D I don't really like them, I hate the boundaries in those games.

But I'll do it anyway for lack of a better solution.

EDIT:

Not nearly as efficient as a real skycard, but I'll upload it soon anyway.

That is amazing. :D
I mean, seriously.
Some displacements and models, and I'll have a very believable boundary that isn't out of place at all.
Thanks.

Sorry for double posting, but I think it is necessary.
I'm not sure how to say this, but your "skycard" isn't working very well.
I thought it would work as nicely as the ones in L4D, but that isn't case. :(
The textures look weird no matter what I try.

Don't get me wrong, they work great as silhouettes. It's just that, I'm trying to use them as a boundary like a rock wall or a fence.

What I want to do is put some of the tree props from The Jungle Pack and have a wall-like brush behind them, to make it look like there are more trees than there are. Sort of like if there were more than the model trees. Your texture is something I'd use if I wanted to an illusion of trees against a skyline.

You know how when you are surrounded by trees in real life and only the nearest ones look like trees and the rest look like a wall kinda?
That's the effect I'm going for.

Sorry again for the double post, and sorry for saying your tree textures were what I was looking for before trying them in game.

Also, I will be using the "Crysis" trees. (Bolded for importance.)

Mappers don't just cut off maps with a skycard. You have to block off the edge with something physical, then make a cutoff point somewhere, then make your skybox from there. So yeah I guess if that's what you wanted a skycard isn't what you need, and a bunch of trees would actually be a better solution. Even better than that, some kind of rock, or a fence with all those trees behind it.

I still am kind of hoping someone here can model a skycard. Anyone know who did the swamp one?
