This is an admittedly flat map in a rather autumny theme.
The gamemode is nonstandard but simple -- Bring the enemy flag to your flag, wherever it may be. The flag resets on capture or after 60 seconds.

Not really, I develop the theme before I make the layout. I just happened to develop it at the center area of my contest map :)

I detail areas as I finish them, too. Only way to stay inspired to keep working on the map sometimes. As long as you're using grouping and visgroups as you go along, changing an area/section after it's detailed is rarely a big hassle.

Looks pretty nice so far, btw. :)

Looks sexy. I was thinking how an Autumn theme would look. Make sure you have falling orange leaves, to make it extra awesome.

Were it not for the leaves painted on the displacements I would say that it looks similar to HL2's airboat section, meaning that it's a little too realistic (like Booj. said).

The HL2 trees are placeholders! I've ordered proper tree models for this :)
