i read on a tutorial on fps bannana while searching for a fix for my hammer crashes and found this

http://www.fpsbanana.com/tuts/1728

its a tut on how to compile a map without having to do it with hammer, making it apparnelty faster and more stable.
Is there truth to such claims and does anyone have a better way of explaining it it. when i try with my bsp i get:
error opening c:\************* vvis de_bevaal

anyone heard for this method of compiling and could shed some more light on it?

ok don't do this. i may have some something wrong, as i just got a wid beeping sound from my pc when i tried vrad, not sure of its intrinsic with doing it this way, or i did somin wrong, but either way, its not cool

Use VBCT, it's out there on google.
It compiles independently of Steam so it won't crash you while it compiles like hammer does.

:p, embarrasing, always wondered what the diff is. anyways, i'm to sacred to use expert compile mode but i'll have a loook at vbct, anything to let me surf while i compile.
