When you receive an email, adsense ads are displayed on the right side when reading the email.

Adding these keywords, will stop ads from displaying.

Code:
funeral cancer died death passed away

Try it, it works.

Hmmm, Google is doing a downright human thing and removes ads from emails about death, I don't think I'd feel right throwing those words in there to avoid ads.

There are many more. For example my dad teaches college physics, so students sometimes ask him for suggestions on which college to go to for their degrees. Depending on which college they mention, the ads change to talk about that college.

Well the way google works is by scanning the page and then presenting the reader with contextual ads, so I know that makes sence for an email about college to get college based ads.

The question however was, Does google actually prevent ads from showing on emails about funerals?

Yes it does. I sent a test email with "death" in the subject and "funeral" in the body, no ads were displayed.

Of course, I had to turn adblock plus off to test this in the first place :)
