Missing cubemaps as I'm sure you're aware already, but otherwise lighting looks great and layout looks tight and clean. Good stuff!

Yep cubemaps will be built with the definitive layout and texturing.

My only concern is the map looks big. I don't mean big as in "ohh I guess it's big," but like distance big. I hear that doublecross is too big, so I went and did some quick measurements on the map. from flag room to flag room it's somewhere between 5800 and 6400 units (I looked the sides up yesterday, 5800 is with just 5000 and 3000 long sides, 6400 is with 3300 and 5500 sides, I think it's a bit more accurate). Since the name of this competition is FAST, I think it's safe to say you want to keep it at or under 5000. And, should you ever find yourself in that ballpark, make sure it takes a lot less time to get to the flag room.

I've run through 2fort as heavy and from red intelligence to blu intelligence with the fastest way to go, it took me 1 minute.

I also tried on my map and it took me 43 seconds.

The thing is that my map is really linear, that's why it looks so distant beetween both intelligence. In game there is no problem of distance, it just looks like on the overview.

You shouldnt take 2fort as an example, its a really bad ctf-map, especially for comp, which this contest is about.

Well I think it's fair as long as he doesn't mimic the style. My point was about size not gameplay, and the only real way I think a comp player could measure distance is in the speed it takes them to get the flag and return with it.

EDIT: Gratz on 600th Nutomic :)

I'm not satisfied with this entry, I think I will try something else.

But not sure at all...

Timing how long it takes to move from flag room to flag room is far more useful then sheer units!
