I've been trying to come up with a solid map design for TF2 for weeks now, and all of my designs are either to similar to a Valve map, or aren't very strong. So I've decided to start completely over, but to do that, I need to know what people want. Just vote on the type of gameplay you'd most like to see, and if you can, please post and explain why.

Thanks for your input, I appreciate it.

CTF - Regular Capture the Flag
CTF (Attack/Defend) - One team starts with a flag and must push it up to the enemy base where there will be a capture area. Flag carrier will take a speed penalty.
CP (5 Point) - Self explanatory.
CP (3 Point) - Like the 5 point.. but... with 3....
CP (Dustbowl Style) - Attack/Defend w/ 3 stages, 2 cps/stage.
CP (Gravelpit Style) - Attack/Defend w/ 3 points, a + b must be captured before c can be captured.
Other - Please Explain.

Yea I was leaning towards CTF since there haven't been a great deal of original/quality ones spewed out yet, but just wanted to see what everyone thinks.

Sorry about the similar thread, its just it didn't have all the options I wanted available.

I would love to see a Dustbowl style map or Gravelpit style map because there are so few of them. Castle3 and Corporation (Dustbowl style) and Broma and Roswell (Gravelpit style) are the only maps that I'm aware of to employ such gameplay.

You missed TC and payload (goldrush)
n00b :p

I mainly want to see people making TC maps, because they are so underrated

i'd like to see more high quality dustbowl/gravelpit style maps, as a server owner gravelpit/dustbowl are almost always the maps that will fill the server, would be nice if someone was capable of doing the same with a custom version.

making 1 that even comes to close to either map - is a challenge though :D

I kept out tc because I don't really think I would be able to design a well balanced map for tc, and I kept out payload because I want some time to play through goldrush after it's released to get a feel of how different techniques are used to make it fun before I try to make a payload map.

I really want to do either a ctf or a dustbowl style, but I'm afraid if I do a dustbowl style that I won't finish since they are bigger maps.

but 3 small maps = a big map. I just have a horrible time finishing maps, but I think I'll try for the dustbowl style anyway.

attack/defend ctf (or reverse consecutive ctf)

It forces team play, and picking up a flag in your own spawn for some reason gives alot more incentive to try to cap the flag instead of it devolving into a deathmatch scenario.

I really love the custom escort gametypes. The few guys who have worked on these have done a great job. I hope to see more of these... at least until goldrush gets here. :D It really gives more of a deathmatch gametype to tf2 which i love.

Well the really clever people have started a payload map secretly so that when goldrush comes out they can decompile it hijack the entity system and have a playable map out much faster than anyone else

I wish I could make a reverse ctf with 2 stages, like dustbowl but ctf instead.
