Votes are in, numbers are crunched, graphs were produced. It's official. Out of 33 entries its been narrowed down to the top two, massive congratulations to both of them!

So here goes!

First Place:
Icarus (cpoint_icarus1)

And close behind, by only three points!
Second Place:
eerieone (cpoint_eerieone)

The very respectable third, fourth and fifth places:
Icarus (cpoint_icarus2)
Spud (cpoint_spud1)
Deloras (cpoint_deloras)

Congratulations to all, Icarus and eerieone will be contacted about prizes.

As promised, info on the next major contest: There has been a delay

But do not fear, you'll hear about the next big contest soon, and there should be another mini contest in a little while too.

For those interested, icarus came out with 104 points, and eerieone just 3 behind at 101.

man, quite a few things to say on this.

1) congrats and cheers to all participants and winners who did an amazing job alltogether

1) right when i saw the icarus screenshot submitted i knew this would be top3 and my motivation sunk to nowhere - next time i don't look in submission thread until i'm finished as well :D

2) will there be some sort of overview chart to see the overall points that were given ? like a hiscore ?

3) i learned so much in this contest and it was such a blast to participate. now i know that proper scaling for maps is quite a tough task and for my next models i better doublecheck in hammer and not only in model-program. how stuff is aligned is so important. man my first tries were so heavily overproportioned, it was ridiculous. but thanks to the valve maps, you could always check how stuff has its dimensions all laid out - did never think of these maps to be of any use at all. or which textures or what themes to choose from. and unfortunately i didn't even get to the optimizing-stage cause in the middle of the contest i had to start over and scrapped the entire stuff....and the list goes on

4) said it so often but say it again, the talent of you forum guys is so amazing and yet you are by far the friendliest bunch of all forums i've ever got to know. i love you

5) i'll definately be taking part in a next mini-contest !! and investigate this mysterious pakrat program a lot more this time :D

Well done, all of you, and congratulations to the top five.

I'm simply amazed - pretty much every single entry this time was really good, while in the swamp contest I could easily weed out those that weren't very impressive (no offense :p).

Congratulations to Icarus, Eerione, Spud, and Deloras: your entries definitely deserved the votes they got.

I've come out of this contest very well also, since my entry is shaping up to be my first finished map soon!

Yes, and some good feedback also came out with the votes. Congrats to everyone.

Also, i agree that we need a spreadsheet of the scores so that those who weren't so high (top 5) can still see the support their map got from voters. I figured this was part of the reason we moved to the 5 points scoring system, as a lot of maps (from the swamp contest) did not get votes and this demoralised many contest entrants.

Congratulations all of you!
(also the ones who didn't make it to the top three - your maps were great too!)
And let's hope that the next contest will be even better!

Mad props all around :) And super-big thanks to Youme, who pretty much did this contest from start to finish all by his lonesome. As for the next big one, somebody started an obnoxious rumor about January 1, and it just ain't true  I apologize to everyone who was waiting, and ask for the person in question to come forth so I can beat him with a stick for causing me so much grief.

That was just... ugh. I put off a new map for a week. I did nothing.

I shall smite whoever said it would be out on the first.

I was not even aware of any rumor until yesterday, but I still support the idea of a stick beating.
