For some reason, the lighting on these chairs seem to be all messed up.

As you can see, they are super bright in the shadows. No errors in the compile log relating to these brushes. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Put an env_cubemap near them, at 80 units high. or maybe you're using model textures on brushes.

Check the texture used... if it starts with prop or model... search for one that is the same... but the normal version without the prop or model before it.

You can use replace in the face edit sheet to quickly replace all of that texture.

Thanks for the help, turned out it had props_wood in the texture and I never noticed. The odd thing is, the texture worked fine in a previous version of the map. Oh well, thanks anyway.

While we're talking about model/prop textures..

I've noticed some textures used in maps (VALVe and otherwise) which seem to be prop textures, but appear to work fine. In particular, I'm looking at props/plasticwall... textures. Is there some reason why some textures might be useable, but others not?
