I'm attempting to add some of the overlays to fine tune my map. I'm having issues though. I looked at the 2fort map to see what they did, but for some reason when i make an entity, set it to info_overlay, and set a material to say a storage sign, its not showing up.

I also am not sure what the difference between using decals as opposed to overlays does, as well as which materials for which one.

Should I just be using the overlay tool?

You dont apply overlays by setting the entity to info_overlay, you need to select :overlaytool: and press where you want it to be.

Decals need slightly less performance than overlays, and you cant change their size and stuff (i think), overlays should almost always be your best option.

do you know if we can resize entities? like door frames or those set to the exact size they come in?

No you cant, unless you decompile them, and change their size in a modeling programm.

But for doorframes, it should usually be easy to make them out of brushes (dont forget func_detail).

Models can't be resized, unless you decompile, resize and compile them again, which is hard work.
