Weird thing keeps happening...

I'm currently making an Achievement getting map in Hammer, you know, stuff like instantly respawning Dispensers/Sentries, capturable points and intel, etc.

When I compile the map, and Hammer auto-loads TF2, after a few minutes of me testing the map, people start joining the map.

The reason this is weird because I don't think people are supposed to be able to get into a "server" that doesn't really exist, seeing as I don't have the map I'm making uploaded to my server, or my FastDL FTP.

Which brings me to my question. How are people even able to access a map that isn't uploaded to my server (My server is currently running that map I made a few weeks back, "Idle_Arena_AlphaV2"), and how can I stop people from joining everytime I compile the map and playtest it in TF2?

Someone who joined said they searched "achievement idle" and my map popped up. My maps name is "achievement_idle_daedryon".

They are joining the server that you are hosting when you play after compiling.

put +sv_lan 1 in the field at the bottom of the compile window and it will make people unable to join.

Thanks :D

EDIT: Wait.....if I make a map in Hammer.....then compile....technically it gets hosted, yes?....then why am I paying FragFestGamers.com $18/mth to host a server for me?

Sure, I'd lose SourceMod, and wouldn't be able to ban, but hell, this method is free!

Hah, I'm sticking with my hosted server though. I can ban people and use admin stuff :D

Do you want to be running tf2 all day, taking all of your computer resources and making people lag if you browse the net. Think about it.

Yeah, usually if you just compile and test your map people will join, and if it is an achievement map, server will fill up really fast. And it lags as hell if you don't have an uber internet connection.
