[WIP] cp_pagoda

Hey all, this is my first map for any game ever! Would really appreciate some honest feedback.

It's a 5 control pointer with a pagoda style tower in the middle. Quite a lot of open space which could be fun if it works, but if not I'll fill it in with some walls and stuff. The lighting is dark but I quite like it that way. Lots of roughness around the edges with dodgy textures/displacements and almost non-existant skybox which I'll be looking to fix in the next version :cool:

Building looks very nice, but I think your map needs more light. Place an env_fog_controller too and compile it with HRD mode.

Looks like you're only using regular light entities to light your map. You need to create a light_environment entity to add sunlight. It's FAR easier than adding multiple lights just so you can see everything.

Looks like you've got some decent brushwork and architecture going. Keep it up!

really enjoyed testing it tonight - it has a great layout but unfortuantely the spawns were fubarred. we'll get the next version up and tested as soon as you're ready.

I'd agree with the lighting comments - that and lots of polish and its going to be an awesome map! The Pagoda is ace.

Hey all, couldn't upload new version here - was too big - need to optimize :(

Anyway this is b2, fixed all the spawn and edge glitches that occured during our tests on Colt's playground last night :p Also put in lots more detail ( like the 'zen gardens' and sorted out the lighting. There are a few strange things in there but i'll leave it for you to find out what they are ;)
