Filling irregular spaces with water

I have a displacement bowl similar to that of hydros (A little less steep so as to allow for easier entry and exit) and am going to be connecting to that bowl via yet more displacement sewer type drains. How do I fill these spaces with water?

I tried adding a box and putting on the no draw and water textures as recommended, but it does not work (when viewing in game from outside, it looks like nothing is in it and every item that it overlaps with dissapears) but I can jump where the water is supposed to be and it works correctly from that point of view.

Thanks in advance for any help

Usually when what you said happens there is a leak. That is what's usually wrong with my water :p

Do you have a water_lod_control entity?
I'm nearly positive you need 1 (only one) in a map with water.

It's likely either a leak or you have used the wrong material on the surface, which did you use? (exact name)

Kaza: yes you need one, but if you haven't placed one VBSP auto-creates one upon compile because you need one.

ok, thanks guys, but that didnt quite answer my actual problem (though did solve one of them) I wanted to know how I would go about filling an irregular space (particularly a displacement pipe with water?

ok, thanks guys, that really helped, and I found the leak that was causing the issues too.
