Hi all,

Quick question, is there a way to filter / gate a corridor to allow only heavies through? Would rather if other classes were blocked from going through but if the only way is to kill them when they pass the gate I guess it will have to do.

Thanks :)

:(

What about giving damage to those that go through the gate? Think setting it to 301 so only buffed heavies can pass would work.

If the purposes is to give heavies a shortcut... I don't think that's a good idea - they're slow for a reason.

It is indeed to give heavies a shortcut. Heavies rarely get used in 6v6 because they are so slow to mid, so if they get to mid around the same time as the medic it will open up some new tactics and make for more interesting lineups.

As I said, they're slow for a reason :p one of the main dynamics in 6v6 is getting to the middle as fast as you can, and when you have shortcuts that disrupt the class order, the whole thing would go a bit higgledy piggeldy. I mean look at Well, everyone gets into the point at the same time, and it's nowhere near as memorable a mid, as say Granary, which can be a long and epic battle.

Soldiers and demos will still be racing to get to mid the quickest, it won't be like Well at all

This is an impossible and stupid idea.

I agree with Ravidge. It's not technically possible and it's also a very bad idea.

Thanks for your input

Heavies are slow for a reason. If there is a heavy standing on mid he can destroy the enemy team.

Equally present is that heavies are slow. 6v6 means fast classes that are more maneuverable. A heavy stands no chance against a comp sniper, or even a comp scout.

Best bet is to have a sophisticated set of area gates, set to particular triggers and/or timers, that force the 'whole' team to stick together.

Doesn't matter how fast your are, you can only pass through a gate when it opens.

A single gate and setup time would be enough, as long as you cant jump over trains and such.

6v6 is mainly limited by the way the powers that be have set the class limits. If you limited the classes to 1 of each, it would be a much more different, fair ball game.
