This map looks amazing. I ran around an earlier version of this, but I would love to get some game time in with it. I've kept missing it during the contest maps gameplay time on the server. Hopefully I can zero in on when this is getting played, it looks so good.

i tried putting it into a 3d skybox, unfortunately there would be an awefully obvious seem where the waters meet. making it bigger also solved the waterbug.

But the space is so large! If the players can't see the seam it's working, and players have difficulty seeing things that are far away.

I actually haven't noticed fps problems on Premuda...premuda is one of the best optimized of the contest entries. At least I get the best performance on it. I'm not running a crazy video card either, just a geforce 8800. I know when my performance is low.

That's really odd, because on this (new) computer, Premuda is the only contest map that gives me fps spikes.

The big space aint a problem, there is nothing to draw, it´s almost empty space.
And Yes, i compared the framerates with all in the skybox and the way it is now. No difference.

Premuda is the only contest map that gives me fps spikes.
Premuda is running smoothly on my machine, i´m getting poor framerates on solitude, scoville & sometimes on nightfall.

You gotta find a way, this is probably one of the reasons premuda's FPS is poor
I ran through vector, and our framerates aren´t that big of a difference, where premuda has 90, vector has 100. that´s not really "poor".
(except my first stage, will rework some of it)

I got a 2 year old rig, and i won´t start cutting down on mah details, when i´m still getting 50fps in mid-battle.

That's.. odd. Those sometimes drop my fps a little, but premuda is the only one giving me actual SPIKES (not drops - just a random stopping of the game). Maybe it's just me though!

Yeah, looking at it I wasn't really sure if it would be too huge of a performance hit, as the amount of detail in that area doesn't seem too significant, regardless its highly unusual to have that much space outside of the playable area

I also have a 2 year old rig, and I am also getting 50fps mid battle, the difference being I think that is too low, I never like to see my fps below 60

And just saying, I wouldn't imagine it would be too difficult to conceal the seam in the water in the visible areas, or even leave the water as it is (maybe change to cheap if its not already?) and move the parts that rise above the water to the skybox

As someone who games far far more then they map, I can honestly say that I never realized there was water until I was doing the overhead screenshots. <_<

I think the FPS hit is minuscule to be honest.

Yea, I run a two year old machine and I've not gotten a single fps spike on any of the contest maps, except for in scoville's first spawn.

I've noticed though that some of the draw distances on the rocks at 3-1 are a little funky. I'd be leaving spawn and visibly watch a rock appear out of thin air. I'll post a screenie or video once I find it.

Yeah, couldn't hurt to turn this down abit. :)

You might already know about this one, but the ramp facing blu spawn on the first stage theres some gaps on either side.

There is a problem with the lamp prop - it doesn't receive shadows if player is too far:

There was one bug: as BLU we spawned on the second stage and the intelligence appeared on the spawn's floor. When cooldown was over, it returned to its place.

Another bug: on the third stage there were two cooldown signs of intelligence. One of them was normally attached to intel, the other one was always on this place:

That's an issue with all maps that have custom particles used in them, restart tf2 and the problem goes away.

Congratulations, we all expected great things from premuda from the beginning, glad everything played out.

Looking forward to seeing this near final maybe in 2011. hehe
