There seem to be a lot of rocket base / launch site maps coming out recently though not one of them is any good. Maybe setting one in a forest/canyon that has to be attacked has the best chance of working well with TF2 textures. Dustbowlesqe points capturing.

Just an idea if anyone wants to make it :p

Custom tree models though like ctf_stronghold would look great

I mean an attack that starts out in a forest and leads to a secluded rocket base or launching site. There aren't any natural maps in TF2 even the one swith water and trees etc are msotly full of the typical buildings and structures. A map where the terrain is the basis of a lot of the contours would be nice.

Instead of the standard map being about farmers etc going to war, how about one with a life like objective such as destroying an enemy scud in a canyon or v2 in a snowy pine forest. It could be 3 stages where one is forest stage where blue attack supply positions like an old wooden hunting lodge used as an outpost the proceed downhill to riverbank to take over supply trucks at a jetty at a cave entrance. Second stage could be attacking into the caves to the base of operations via a trail of supply crates and briefing rooms and bunks etc to the rocket which is outside in a canyon with a fwe bunkers and control towers.

Or depending if its a small mobile rocket the whole thing could take place in a forest maybe with a big old bridge too which would be even cooler imo.

Meh Im jsut typing here but outdoor maps are what I want no more stock buildings in asymmetrical maps plz, GREEN FORESTS AND SNOW MAPS FTW no more crappy desert

I'm getting so bored of the same maps being made all the time but with a few different features, there is no variation or attempt to make amazing semi life like maps, the tf2 theme can still be kept with larger than life structuring and detailing but the actual environment should be realistic like a forest or a lake. At the moment they're all just arenas with different textures, not actual facilities or landscapes

A forest map for TF2 = bad.

Have you SEEN the tree models for TF2?

They're atrocious if you can get close enough to them. Do what Valve does and keep them overlooking the map or behind fences and stuff. Besides, we all know that any forest there may have been would be simply obliterated once the Demoman came along.
