I'm trying to fill out the front office for a map, and I'm finding the standard options painfully limited. I'm looking for things that could be found in an office, such as the following:

  • Cups filled with pens and pencils
  • 'To Do' and 'Outgoing' trays (could be multiple skins here)
  • Wire racks filled with manila folders
  • Pen holders with pens, such as you find at a bank
  • Filing cabinets (vertical, lateral, tall and short)
  • Mimeograph machines
  • Alternate desks
  • Bookshelves in various degrees of full
  • Desk fan
  • Desk calendars
  • 'Next window' signs
  • Banker's boxes
  • Clipboards with stacks of paper on them
  • Overlays of various forms and/or documents
  • Typewriters
  • Staplers (Red Swingline optional)
  • Wall maps showing airline/shipping routes & hubs

Anything and everything that could be used to fill out space and fill up the room would be useful. I'd imagine these would be useful for a good deal of other maps as well.

Honestly? I'd prefer one of two options, based on how much effort folks care to put into this:

Option 1
A single, neutral skin for each thing. Black, white, grey, beige, brown, what have you. Something that would allow any of these items to fit into any building, regardless of if it was RED, BLU, or neutral (or Green or Yellow, since people occasionally make maps for those hapless victims of RED and BLU).

Option 2
Three skins, one for each team and a neutral version. This doesn't have to apply to every item, but where it doesn't seem out of the ordinary applying the color pallets for RED, BLU, and Grey. RED tends to favor browns and reds, BLU tends more to the blues and greens, and both teams make use of greys, whites, blacks, and yellows. In all cases incidental items don't necessarily follow the rules if they or their components are standardized in a given color- Bakelite telephones like the one in the game were always black. Fire extinguishers are always red. And so on.

The map I'm currently working on that needs these is a BLU office, so it'd be good to have things that match up there- but if people are going to do this I'd honestly rather see 'em do it in a way that makes the results useful for many maps, rather than just my own.

1. I'd rather overkill than have people cry about how I didn't give them the information they need.

2. Given some of the conversations I've had in offices about office supplies... well let's just leave it at that.

Fair enough. I still have one of these:
