Beware of loading demos from Steam

Why is this an issue? It's like a game you haven't installed being on your games list, it stays there because it's linked with your account. It's not aggressive marketing either. Get your facts straight.

It has nothing to do with GETTING the demo. Any demo you CHOOSE to get will properly remove when you uninstall it. However with the L4D2 demo they forcefully "credited" it to every account, so it appears in your "Not installed" list. Such as for me, it shows up there, even though I've never touched anything L4D2 related.

I don't understand why he cares so much either. This thread should be locked.

Are you serious, they are not gonna manually remove it thats a waste of time. How picky can you be, delete the icon and everything all you have is on your games list. If you buy l4d2 it will be removed, or when the demo is over.

Seriously? i am they even replied.

But.. i swear i will never want to again. It takes up so much space, and the game was so bad i cant even look at it on my games list.

Do you get this annoyed when free weekends come around and it's in there saying "1.6 days left" next to it, do ya, do ya?

If you buy l4d2 (or preordered it) once it was released the demo was removed from my games list. I had to go to my steam program flies folder to remove it.

Valve added the demo to everyone's game list, like in Left4Dead 1. However, they didn't give a strict deadline as to when it disappears. Frankly, it's a one off and should be fixed: either treat the demo like all others or remove the demo from the Steam system wholesale.
