Looks good and seems to be a good idea.
I would enjoy having a theme like in meet the engineer only alpine theme and lighter.
Then again im listening to wii sports golf music so that might have a effect.

Lasso Tool (Maybe magic wand) > Duplicate each tree section to an individual layer > Adjust to your heart's content.

Looks okay so far. Note however, there is a noticeable white smudge in the first screen (where the top of the dark purple mountain is).

The smudged skycards are ruining this skybox :( Do what Psy said, and it will look a lot better.

You mean using lasso tool? but lasso isn't a tool of photoshop or something because i used gimp to make this custom skybox

He used the smudge tool to remove the whiteness he had on the horizon from editing the sky section above the hills.

He's simply not that experienced with gimp or any image editing software.

It would be ok if he used a smaller brush size for smudging, but using a layering system would also be just as convinient.

Here's a preview of the final alpha of ctf_flakey - our community Christmas map - and the one i'd like to try with your texture. Let me know. I reckon it'd be ace - and set off the flashing lights (novelty for christmas, will remove for beta releases. post christmas....but they are pretty nifty with 8 different patterns randomised :D
