Cross_Town_B1

Beta release of my new map CP_Cross_Town.

Made this just this last week and it is my first map so it may be buggy. I am completely open to all suggestions and ideas so please leave comments.

P.S.
If this happens to get any play on any servers fill me in, I would be more than happy to play a few rounds and show you a tour (even though none is needed):thumbup1:.

maps take more than a week to make
normally months

and most of the stuff you have is hl2

you may have a good layout but you need to redo those textures some

keywords: TF in your texture browser.

I think you might be able to find good enough textures to replace these, and even if you can't there are plenty of prop windows so you can make some fake buildings.

All 3 statements are quoted for truth!

I've been working on my level for about a month now and I already have another idea I would rather be working on but there is still almost a month, maybe more, of work left to do. :(

I ABSOLUTELY HATE tf2 levels with HL textures in them. You can sometimes be creative and find a way to use them as small details but covering an entire building with it will make me vomit. :D

I feel like a lot of tf2 appeal is the texturing and lighting provided with the new source engine which coupled with HL textures is going backwards.

I do wish Valve would update the textures and props because they are EXTREMELY limited. :(

I completely agree with the above posters.

Also, from the screens you've posted it looks like you've got fullbright lighting. So either you haven't implemented any lighting in your map at all, or you've got a leak somewhere. I wouldn't even consider a public release until at least a preliminary lighting pass has been done.

Looks like you may have a good start, but the best releases are typically months in the making. Keep up the work, learn what you can, and continue to improve your abilities.
