This looks like a great resource, and I downloaded it and installed it, but now I don't know what to do. Where did everyhting install to? How do I load any of it?

I went to load a map, and one seems to have the point capture setup with a bunch of red and blue engineers, but the floor isn't gray like the screenshot. And another I loaded looks like the prop reference map but comes up centered on three icons which say "obsolete" and no props are visible anywhere.

"see nothing but orange squares.
You need to use visgroups!
View Menu > Screen Elements > Filter Control"

I've loaded ABS_PropLibrary_09-11-01.vmf. I have the filter control dialog open. Hammer won't let me check the point entities box. I see nothing but orange squares, and if those those "obsolete" things aren't intended to tell me I'm looking at the wrong file then it's probably a bad idea to have the camera view start out centered on them.

I have installed the whole thing again and left the dialog open so I can see where the files installed to, but the only maps that seem to have been installed are the ones in the default map directory and this is the only one that seems to be geared towards props.

Okay I went back a couple pages on the forum and someone linked to a wiki page about the visgroups, and there it mentioned that clicking the show button makes all groups visible regardless of status, so I clicked that, and boom, all the props appear.

But when I deselect the show button, they all dissapear again, and I still cannot enable the props checkbox. What is going on? And why does the map start out pointing at something indicating it is obsolete?

T-T-T-T-T-Triplepost!

The obsolete things are there just for guidance and instructions.

To enable the stuff, you need to look at the visgroups window at the right, click on the 'User' tab, and then scroll up and down and click in the checkbox that you want to show, eg. Nature or Patch Panels

I know that this may be one of the noobiest of all noob questions ever asked, but how do I place one of the custom props? Me and my equally nooby friend cant figure it out! Thanks for the whole pack though, its really helpful, especially the doors!

At first I thought it would be some tools that might marginally help, but I kept reading and then installed for myself.

Great stuff, it really takes the tedium out of a lot of mapping chores.
