Nice! Will you release the... short round... things in the background of the first image, though?

what you mean with spytech diving stuff ? made me curious !

@eerieone: a friend (who's a mapper) and me were talking about teaming up for a tf2-map, after we had finished a hl2dm couple of years ago. we had this underwater station theme going on, me saving millions of pictures and whatnot...
but unfortunately he lost interest / had to move and study...whatever :D
we weren't really onto something, i just made models, i thought might fit and he made suggestions also.
i tried couple of times to get started with mapping, but just can't get the hang of it all :/

here's a list with files that were created within that creative flubberphase ;)
you might be able to spot 1-2 things from there :D
BEWARE: lots of conceptual stuff without cohesive style

Modular models are the way forward, you should split them up so that you can tile them how you want etc.

Otherwise. excelent models

while i'm all for modular, i don't think i'm grabbing your idea of having these modular ? could you ellaborate on this ?

Make a section that is just the hoizontal beams, and an ending curve, and perhaps a central upright pole so that you can put two end models, a dozen hoizontal beam models and half a dozen centre pole models and have a way longer railing.

If you go for this, a 90, 45 and 135(inverse of 45) degree corner would be great for the modularity :)

ah, got you !
actually i had this modularity in mind for my other railing-models but these ones are kinda fixed size because, well, because i found according refpics where there were a couple of variations but not intended to use for a long railing. more for certain roads/walkways, where you're not supposed to pass through. think like austin powers movie where he's driving that vehicle and needs to make a sharp turn ;)

you mean like this, right ?

maybe i'll expand this one. i was also thinking that it might be a tad too much yellow if someone uses these in a modular way ! but if others agree, i might do these modular pieces, also. i'll think about it :)

Awesome models. Considering the usage of the original road bumper, I can likely replace a majority of short fences in Scoville with these railings. :D

thx Void !

k, sat down and made another railing version today. modular as its only one post and 3 horizontal beams (96,128 and 192 units). i'm not sure about the scale of them. should they be a bit lower on belly-height or fullmansizedpowerfences ?

Looks good, I'd say for a railing like they you'd want to lean your arms on it, so diaphragm height.

thanks guys, i updated the picture with the final heights. did a comparison with the tf2-railings to be safe :)
anyways, hope you fear my mappingrailingskills ! figured out, you could use 45° angles. it works, if you're humble like me :D
