Looks like there's been a change of plans...

L4D2 has been delayed an extra 10 hours... I bet Valve is rolling around chuckling while everyone gets their knickers in a twist.

You don't say. :V

They also delayed the game by a day (or 10 hours), didn't they?

FUUUUUU I got home from school today so excited and pumped for the demo and then this :c

What i don't understand is that the demo is working and ready, so why delay it?

run it outside of steam, if its already downloaded, you should be able to.. I did that with the l4d demo when it ran out

Yeah, I'm raging pretty hard. I took a half day off work to get home early, figuring "Oh hey the L4D2 demo is going to be out around 3:00 today" only to find out it will be released around 1:00am my time. Not even the same day they said it would be released.

Raging pretty hard...

I say we boycott VALVe for their inability to deliver a product demo on a expected time frame. I can get 40,000 supporters in no time.

Meanwhile lets all play a rousing game of TF2 on Hydro to lift the spirits?

Yep. I've heard that it's not "delayed", simply there was an error between the times posted for online release and the "real" time that was negotiated with all the game stores etc.

Rage, my little puppets! RAGE! DANCE FOR YOUR MASTER!

I feel i should contact your employer to tell them this, then see how much rage you'd have.

Seriously, you took time off work... FOR A GAME.. in fact its better than this.. its not even the full game just a DEMO.

You're a pretty poor excuse for a person if you're lying to your boss about why you were off today, if you told them the truth and they were ok with it then thats another matter. but I'd have thought from the infinite cases where valve have failed to deliver content on the day they said they would no one would be taking days off for release hopes.

I mean seriously, have you learnt nothing from the millions of times valve have been "oops. we're late" at the last minute?

I'm going to stop myself because i could rant all day at how utterly stupid what you've just done is. It defies belief, especially because you're angry at valve because of how stupid you've been! oh man.

anyhow before i actually die of laughter I will hit submit reply.

Actually yeah, I guess it was pretty silly to take time off to play a game with some friends, especially one I'm pretty psyched for. Taking time off to relax, have a nice afternoon after not taking any time off for several months, and just spend some time with people I haven't seen in about as long as I haven't had time off is pretty sorry on my end.

And no, I don't need to lie to my boss to take time off. I ask for time off, they say ok, there you go. Seeing as I am a level designer, they probably would've understood that I wanted some time to play the coolest new release (depending on your opinion of course) even if I did have to explain my reasons for taking a half day off. They probably would have encouraged it.

So yeah, silly of me to want to spend time with people I don't really get much time to hang out with, silly of me to want to dive into a pretty awesome looking game, pretty silly of me to want to spend an after noon relaxing, pretty silly of me to want to look at Valve's new levels, pretty silly of me to ... wait, you're a piece of shit. My bad.

This was the important bit

I mean seriously, have you learnt nothing from the millions of times valve have been "oops. we're late" at the last minute?

I'm all for taking time out, but do you really need to do it in that grey area where valve are able to turn around and not deliver? Can you not book your time off for the day after supposed release? or better yet, wait until actual release, then book time off since you know you'll be able to play?

Every release theres countless cases of angry people who booked time off to play it as soon as it was out and it wasnt there to play. Why hasn't any one learnt? the game will still be as amazingly fun even if you play it a day late just to be on the safe side of release day.

If as you say you've not taken time out in months, why does an extra day or two to avoid the miss-release make all that much difference? it doesnt.

I'd be a little more sympathetic if it was the full game but time out for just a demo is a bit much, which ever way you spin it.

anyhow, sleep time for me. Lucky for me i had tonight off from working to play the demo and now have to use my freetime in the morning to do the work i should have done today. Guess the demo and relaxation (yeah, pretty full work schedual myself actually) will have to wait until tomorrow evening. Oh well, its just a demo after all ;)
