I'm not sure. Should I be forking over the ~$100 for this?

Is it worth it? I'd grown rather attached to XP

Preordered it for $30 since my mom had an old edu adress. Going to get it for my birthday on the 30th, glad to get out of Vista since I haven' had a good OS for a while.

Well, just watched a review of it, and many of the features advertised as 'new' I already have, such as the desktop button, or I don't really think I'll need much. However the dragging windows to the top to maximize them is useful, but just lazy :p And I'm not keen on the new start menu. I hate the way it is in Vista, in XP I can see all my programs at once, whereas Vista meant I had to scroll through to find what I wanted-which I quite often missed.

The math writer thing was just fail. He tried to write 7 and it came out as >. Pi came out as some random symbols he didn't even know :p

I thought i would hate new start menu as well when i went to vista, fell in love with search function. Its basically run and search in 1.
opening notepad for a quick note is so easy, press winkey type notepad and press enter without even thinking.

I never even need to look at my programs list

I really, really want this. I've been using the beta, but I'm broke. I might be able to convince my dad...

Got two copies via education discounts for my computers.

One was free via MSDNAA, and the other was via the Digital River $29 education deal.

Nothing to complain about at the moment.

I'm going to mooch off the RC as long as I can before I have to pay for it.

I have the upgrade box behind me, but at the moment I'm still on XP. I'm rebuilding my PC with a new motherboard, RAM and CPU later this week so I'm waiting until then to do it, do it all at once - I'm looking forward to trying it out.

It must be that time of year? That's 5 people who are all upgrading their systems this week including myself. I think i'm sold on this now, gonna grab the edu deal before my final year at uni is up. Might as well fork out for the real deal of adobe suite as well, while i can still get that great student offer. It'll be helpful to have the proper support.

I'm gonna get this at some point, either by getting a $150 Home Premium three pack with my brother and father (that's $50 per unit for three vs. $120 individually) or as a gift for Xmas. I may also look into the student e-mail I apparently have but haven't used for the community college I attend and see if the fact that it's at a .edu domain gets me the $30 deal. :O Not counting on it though - I'd heard it was only for universities.

My dad got a bunch of copies, some are installed, some aren't

my and my brothers' computers are still Vista, there were some problems with one of the other ones so it's not being installed until that's fixed

I just got a new laptop, so I just got a free upgrade. Have been running the BETA and RC on my desktop and my old laptop since the beginning, and my desktop is running a pirated RTM version now.
