It's amazing what a well-made video like that can do - namely moving Borderlands wayyy up my 'want' list :)

I was going to but, i changed my mine mainly because from ingame footage showed the AI being just despicable imo. I mean I guess I can't complain since it is something new, but ill probably wait for a price drop. It's also heavily co-op based which is nice but doesn't really seem as exciting unless it's on a couch with some buddies.

It kinda reminds me of the new Red Faction. I bought it mainly cause they advertised the Destruction and the Ostrich Hammer. Unfortunately the AI was dumb, the story was crap, and you couldn't hijack every vehicle and some vehicles you would use once or twice because you couldn't find them. I ended up trading that back to Gamestop when I beat it. I get that same vibe with Borderlands since everyone forgot about it until they made their new art style.

heres a review for it though, its a pretty decent review. :O http://kotaku.com/5384689/borderlands-review-guns-guns-guns

If you've got some spare time on your hands take a look at this: [ame="http://www.giantbomb.com/quick-look-borderlands/17-1498/"]Quick Look: Borderlands - giantbomb.com[/ame]

It's a good 30 minute "quick look" where they do some four play co-op until the power goes out. They also just came out with a pretty praising review of it too. Although now-adays the only reviews I fully trust are from Zero Punctuation. :/

I preordered it the day steam added it to the list. When I first heard of this I was only slightly interested, but with the steam of release footage and the concepts the game holds (weapon randomizer, cell-shaded graphics, etc.) this definitely rose my excitement about the game.

All in all though, I think a good friend of mine said it best. "I'd rather play with friends on a horrible game then play alone in a slightly decent game."

After reading that, I might just buy this game (gotta convince a friend to first).

couldn't agree more!

Wow, you guys actually take his reviews seriously? LOL.

He is fine if you take his reviews as humorous rants about a game, but his reviews are so ridiculously harsh, that I wonder why he plays games if he hates them all so much.

Yahtzee doesn't review games, he just tells you why not to buy it. It's then up to the consumer to weigh the bad things from the games you want against other games, which is why he's such a good critic. Instead of saying, "this game's a four, that one's a B+, that one will be an 8.7," he gives you knowledge as to what you might not find suitable and lets you decide. That being said he doesn't really include much of the positive aspects of said games.

Exactly why I value his opinion more then the larger game review sites that seem to rate their reviews on half-assed playthroughs and commerical backing. *cough* IGN * cough*

Plus being he is an older gamer he doesnt like the shit like Halo, SSB.. or anything else that has simplistic gameplay that's been watered down *halo*

The fact that i agree about 99% of ALL his reviews on the games ive played that he did review means i trust what he says about games.

He just says it better then i could.

I really want this game, unfortunately by the time I have enough money, it'll probably be out, and I'll have to complete it before L4D2 comes out

Couldn't agree more, but that's why I hate his reviews. He makes every game sound like a pile of crap, and it is just depressing. Even on the games he likes, you can't even tell that he likes them, because he's too busy trying to be witty and talk fast, and telling you every little annoyance that probably won't effect your decision that much.

Edit: Sorry for getting off-topic.

Borderlands. Can't wait for it, I got the 4-pack with some friends, game looks amazing.

Hey look, it's fallout 3 meets l4d. It still looks good though, being that there's nothing wrong with either of the games that 'insipired' it. I really like the feel that they gave it. P.S. Zero punctuation is the only source of unbiased, good reviews.

Oh, wow, I never actually thought I'd meet anyone here supporting Yahtzee's ridiculously harsh, really nitpicky and extremely biased reviews. EDIT: And I mean biased by personal preference. His reviews are entirely subjective, boiling down to "I hate it" every time. That's not how you make a review.

But getting back on track, I guess I forgot to mention I'm not going to get Borderlands, because I'm so disappointed by the fact that it only has max 4 players in multiplayer, the characters look stupid... yeah... I'm overall disappointed compared to what I was hoping it would become.

I can recommend Gamereactor.net for reviews. It's a scandinavian game magazine. They have some stuff in English too.

But Borderlands, the video that DJive posted looks great. But I don't think I'll get it, I don't really like RPG's

I just got it today, just started playing :) It's quite fun from what I'm playing, haven't delved into the story really. I think it's a worthwhile buy (hell, I'll buy most games unless it's Football (Soccer) especially if there are explosions :D )

Yeah I ended up getting this. Though I am kinda sad that us PC gamers have to wait until monday in order to start playing.

I do have it Pre-loaded and ready to go though! So as soon as it is avaliable, I am so jumping into this.

I got it for the PS3 :) It could be better in some aspects, I *think* it uses the same engine as spiderman or something, everything seems similar to that. And apparently there are over 13 million weapons available as of now. xD
