This is fail.

I've been playing RF:G online lately, and it uses games for windows - live. Meaning that rather than utilizing a nice match list so I can determine how many games there are, their modes, players, etc, I'm stuck depending on the good will of what basically amounts to Xbox software to find a game for me. Oh, and then its player hosted matches on top of that.

Due to the joyious experiences I've had with the above, I've come to appreciate the simple things a lot more than I used to, such as a server list. L4D had some serious problems with matchmaking at first, and that plus RF:G have managed to leave a bad taste in my mouth for the entire match making idea. Hopefully, they change this with MW2. I've never actually played a COD game online (and I've got 4 different PC ones), but keeping PC games PC user friendly would be some I'd enjoy in the event I ever wanted to actually try it out.♠

Frankly, not a bright move by any means. And the petition has [SIZE=+6]138524 signatures now.

I see it now. Modern Warfare 2 PC sells far less than the console versions.

Then Infinity Ward comes out with a new press release: "PC Gaming is dying!"

The PC has been and will continue to be the pinnacle of computer gaming for some time to come.

The most annoying thing about L4D is the matchmaking lobbies, its only good when you've got enough friends for a co-op campaign (relatively easy) or enough friends to have a good versus game (a fair bit harder to get 7 friends online at once and wanting to play).
