Whats with all the back seat modding all of a sudden? if caliostro had named his thread more sensibly icarus wouldnt have posted his I'm sure.
And why does it even matter if there are two? since this one has a more informative name, more recent and in total more posts.. I'm going to lock the other, but chill out about the two threadness.
And in future, for tf2 related news (like the larger of the minor updates, and definitely anything full update related) PLEASE contact a member of staff to post it because if you post it we have to either move the thread and lock you out of it or repost it and delete or lock your thread. it just saves time and effort if you ask us to post the tf2 related news.

That said, I made my thread first, was on the first page when he posted it (and he would have seen if he had even looked before jumping to that "NEW THREAD!" button, it's hardly ambiguous), and mine gets locked?
Chill out. It's just a thread. On the internet. Who cares who's gets locked? It's the subject that's important. Not who was there first and gets the 'make believe' browny points.
I for one think this is brilliant and typical of Valve. In their typical brilliance.

Not to say he was at the very least rude, he was definitely arbitrary. Which is why I asked if there was some reason behind it I didn't get or if it was, indeed, random.

I also gave clear reasons for locking one thread instead of the other.
And I was referring to shoo's post more than yours.
And for the umpteen millionth time: if you want a thread to die, dont post in it. posting saying the thread is redundant is so pointless it actually hurts. if it needs to be locked or whatever: Contact a member of the site staff rather than posting.
EDIT: in light of the new posts added since i started mine: Stop crying in a thread, you've sucessfully derailed it completely. Again: contact one of the staff. and I gave you my reasons for locking your thread, please read my post again before getting more upset.
That said: Go buy some cheap as chips half life!

I fail to see where this perceived "rage" is. Caliostro just wanted to know why his thread was locked rather than this one.
Threads maybe could of been merged, with a mod edit saying something like "merged threads, thanks to Caliostro and Icarus for highlighing this deal to all....regards *modname*"
All iv seen in this thread is a couple of replies that have hardly been argumental at best. But i agree, its the point that counts, thanks to BOTH thread creators highlighting the same Steam deal, alot of people will be aware of it and will grab themselves a few copies of Half Life 2 and have a decent time with them.

Garner, Caliostro's thread was locked and it appeared like he was whining about it, in this one. Caliostro's posts have the tendancy for an aggressive and condescending undertone, so it's not hard to believe why some people would percieve any of his posts hostile. Since it gives the persona of him frequently acting like a hormonal teenager.
which isn't that presumptuous with comments like "i was first" or "i was on the front page", which are very self orientated statements. Rather than just PM'ing his query in the interest of the subject matter he continued to derail the thread by publicly questioning how a moderator did his job.
At the risk continuing the tangent, i just thought i might explain that Caliostro's behaviour doesn't help the way people respond to him. Since you were curious to ask.
