Under Map on the top bar, click load point file. That loads up the path that the leak is taking, a little red line will appear, and will show you where the leak is. If you can't find the red line, uncheck the Auto in the Vis group to get rid of everything in the map, leaving just the red line.

Hope that helps. :)

If the red line appears to end and start outside the map, you may have a brush-entity origin misplaced.

As for finding origins, yes, you have to select the entity (with :helpers: on) and then it will show a small white circle in 2D views, or a shaded blue ball in 3D views. (You can try it with func_door).

If your pointfile shows a red line that begins and ends outside your map, select the whole map (Edit->select all) and look for an origin near the red line. If you have a wacky origin, select the entity and right-click in a 2D view and choose "Center Origin".

When in doubt:
Step 1, cover all of the map with a skybox brush.
Step 2: Right click
step 3: select make hollow
step 4: run map.

Making one skybox brush around the whole map is very bad. Its almost as bad as leaving the leak in, because with this, the engine will recognize your whole map as a single room, so everything will be rendered ALWAYS, no matter if there are areaportals or so...

I don't mean that you leave your map like this. I mean to say that you do this to see if leaking is your problem. Ive had something like a "LEAK BLAH BLAH BLAH" on the compile checker, I do that little fix, and if it fixes nothing, theres another problem. Like I said, its a quick fix, don't leave it like that :p

Uh... it will always fix the problem but will also ruin your map. What do you think a leak is?
