Icefrog, the developer of the famous Warcraft 3 mod Defense of the ancients, wrote a news on the DotA homepage, that says he is now leading a team at valve. Maybe there will be some DotA-game from Valve, or something different, like a strategie game in general.
It sounds very interesting, maybe there will be a Half-Life RTS, who knows.

However, there affirmation from Valve yet, lets hope the best.

Well, if there's one thing we know about Valve is that it picks up talent whenever it sees it... This could be Valve's way of branching out into the RTS genre...

It's all uncertain now, all I know is, this will be interesting.

How the hell did that happen? He modded for a Blizzard game, but gets recruited by Valve? Something is going on.

Really it is the fact that he has proven that he has a solid understanding of how to make something fun as well as the dedication to maintain it.

Grats to Ice Frog, as someone who has spent many an hour playing Dota, I can't wait to see what the team he is on now comes up with! I am sure it will be awesome!

Booj, DotA is an RTS, not an RPG. I am dissapointed in you.

Did I say it wasn't? No. It's merely the blizzard factor, and Warcraft is known for it's RPG-ish elements laced into an RTS.

Never read more into what I say than what is on the surface :p

Blizzard is going after Valve with their engine and mapmaking tools for Starcraft 2, trying to knock off HL2 as the most popular modded game

Only makes sense that Valve would hit back by getting the maker of the most popular Blizzard mod ever

Robin said at one point that EA was shadowly looking over Valve, nothing official. But if they did make an offer, Valve would consider it.

Dear god I hope it doesn't happen.

An Update to Team Fortress 2 has been released. The Update Changes Include:
-All 9 Classes have been removed, for $10.00 you can repurchase them.
-For an additional $15, you can buy upgrades for all your classes
-this update costs $40, and it's probably the last one we'll do now as we are making TF10K
