I just found out about this. ZPS is getting a pretty meaty update and a modeling contest. Good stuff: http://www.zombiepanic.org/site/index.php



The ZP Development team has been hard at work for the past few months, working on a major milestone in ZPS development. This update will include several new maps, new features, and a new game mode.

But first, I want to talk about a new competition that we are hosting.

That's right. In honor of Halloween and Zombie Panic's (HL1 Mod) 5 year anniversary, we will be hosting a prop modeling contest! The duration of this contest will be 2 weeks starting now and ending October 17th of this year, and the rules can be found here.


Now, with that out of the way, we can talk about ZPS 2.0, which we hope to release on October 31, 2009! That's right, we're aiming for a Halloween release! Included is a new game mode, which is currently codenamed as "ZPA". As we get closer to release, we will detail more about this game mode. But we aim to release ZPA with *two* new maps, as well as a slew of features and enhancements that are ZPA-exclusive.

Played this already, but i didnt like the whole gameplay, way too slow compared to other games (Left 4 Dead).

The pictures look nice though.

I was briefly on the zombie mod team HoldOut as a level designer before the lead coder decided he wanted to concentrate on University and the whole thing went down the drain mid development.

It's a shame that most of their good maps (and weapon models) were donations from said mod. I'd have liked to see better stuff by now.

I still had a map i wanted to release for HO and promised Tatsuro i'd donate it to ZP when it was finished (when i was reminded about the mod when steam had a big hoohaa about it). But my motivations continued to lie with TF2. I should pull my finger out and pass it over since the half finished vmf still looks of better quality than these maps.

Zombie Panic is incredible fun if you play it with a group of people you vaguely know, and alltalk on, about 3 times a year.
