The trailer itself is good (even it if seems to heavily favor showing off certain classes) but...

Meh, all the guys who spent their days honing the exploitation of engine physics bugs realized nobody else found that very fun. So they decided to try to lure more cannon-fodder newbies to pwn by taking it all and putting a newer face on it.

Looks even worse than I remember.

Except for the part where pyros can fly and shoot flaming skulls. Get on that, Valve.

I probably wouldn't hate this so much if the players didn't all move at absurdly fast speeds for no reason. Oh, and because the medic is an offense class. And Nades. Nades make everything worse.

the maps look awesome. the Character models are only ok though. Character animations are crap. Holding onto bunny hopping, just looks stupid. Conc grenades seem to unbalance defense, and something with such a high learning curve, that doesn't make any sense physics wise doesn't fit well. Why make the entire game realistic up until the point you get to player movement where you break the laws of physics and hop and fly around.

Anyways, the trailer is good, it does its job of showing the game off and making you want to play it.

The game, not so much, attracting new players will be hard with such a high learning curve.

When I want fast paced action, I definitely don't think of FF, I think of Unreal Tournament.

THE NEXT GENERATION OF GAMING

EXTREME BUNNYHOPPING

YOU MUST CONC JUMP 3 TIMES, PICK UP THE ENEMY FLAG, FLY AROUND THE MAP 5 TIMES, AND LAND IN YOUR OWN BASE WITHOUT TOUCHING THE GROUND ONCE or you're not pro

Why do people hate FF?

it maintains a physics engine exploit from the old TFC, then centers it's gameplay around it, to create a non sensible hopping fest (since when did hopping make people run 3x+ spead?) with added flying from concussion grenades (why does a dizzying grenade have enough force to throw a person hundreds of feet, without rupturing the ear drum and rendering them unconscience?)

Basically, those flaws in the physics engine were solved for a reason, they look horrible, and add a learning curve to the game that is very bad (you shouldn't have to practice for hundreds of hours to effectively help your team take the enemy's flag).

I played TFC back in the day, before bunny hopping and conc jumping were big, I stopped when they came about, because of how stupid but the concept is, and how stupid they look in game.

Oh yeah and Valve totally didn't do this either. Also, I think you need to check your definition of bunny-hopping, because that's what it does.

Who cares what it looks like? It's easy enough to press your jump button repeatedly after hitting the ground to preserve and gain momentum.

You didn't play the real TFC

You didn't play the real TFC

1) grenade/rocket jumping don't make you fly as far, or fast, and have the penalty of hurting the player)

2) why bother texturing the level then if you don't care what it looks like? fullbright with sprites is all you need right? the numbers are the same on the inside... say you don't even need a 3d engine for that...

3) sounds like I quit just when the "real" TFC started, and I thank god I did, I moved to other games that accomplished fast gameplay with vast superiority to TFC

hey guys... remember that bug in Mario 3 that let you get 99 1ups?... Well lets make a new mario game, all 3d, astounding graphics, completely based on that exploit of the game, its all about repeatedly hitting the same respawning goomba over and over again. Oh, and mario's animation when he jumps... don't worry too much about that, just make him move however, maybe make him look like he's taking a shit, it doesn't matter what it looks like, as long as we hold true to our roots!

For Christ's sake. The game is based as much upon bunny-hopping as TF2 is upon rocket jumping.

Oh really? then why does the video show it so prominently?
Because it makes you go "Super Fast!" in an unflattering, unnatural, and basically fail way.

One who doesn't "Bunny Hop", can he keep up with those who do? If not, it's an integral part to the game.

Can a soldier who can't rocket jump keep up with other soldiers? Can a demoman who can't pipe jump keep up with other demomen? Can a scout who can't double jump keep up with other scouts? Can a spy who can't disguise keep up with other spies? Can an engineer who can't upgrade keep up with other engineers? Can a medic who can't ubercharge keep up with other medics? Can a sniper who can't zoom keep up with other snipers?

Too bad when you rocket/sticky jump in tf2 you are still killable and you sacrifice alot of health, making it a reasonable trade-off.

Why not in FF make the default speed 1000 units per second?

Hitscan weapons don't have projectile delays.

Didn't say it was impossible to get killed while bunnyhopping in FF, but it requires alot of luck/aim. If there's not a reason to not bunnyhop then why not make that the default speed?

I agree, but believe they do it because "it's a skill you should have to know." and "It was like that in TFC."

So games should make you use a separate key for right right and left legs. That would basically be the same thing, at a realistic speed.

The video was nice for it's impress camera angles, atmosphere and music, but the bunny hopping just made me go..."what???" Seriously? The video then just felt like "OH LOOK AT MY MAD SKILLZ AT SHOOTINGZ BUNNY HOPPERZ!: I give it a 4 out of 10.

I think Bunny hopping was a big thing during old games and it was a skill that was loved for some but hated by mainstream because of the learning curve and unfairness it caused within the games itself. I think multiplayer games should focus on you're skill with the mouse and virtual weapon not how well you can enter MACH 3
