I have updated the steam profile badges to the latest code done by user [ame="http://forums.tf2maps.net/member.php?u=6052"]TF2Maps.net[/ame]

He's done an amazing job with this project and I've volunteered to help him test this during development.

If you see him around the forums, throw him a thanks or two. Later, a link will be included in the badge itself to link users to their tf2items.com back pack, but thats a little later down the road.

Again, thank you Barracuda for your hard work :)

What are the changes with them? They look the same to me :/

Is there anything we should do for helping test them?

EDIT: ACK! I think there may be something wrong with the new stuff.... As I put this post in, where there is normally the steam thing, instead I just see 76561197966860228 written in the box where it should be!

EDIT EDIT: However, when I reload the page again it displays normally. *shrugs* Weird.

EDIT EDIT EDIT: Though when I edit this apparently the number appears again!

Thanks :)

It's still beta, so in case of problems... I'm here!

Yes, this may happen as the script replaces that numbers/steam-IDs/aliases with the profile on-the-fly.

might be a refresh bug.

for the most part, on the surface it looks pretty much the same, but almost all of the program has been rewritten to avoid having it be heavily dependent on the web server.

I could make the orange darker, but green is out of question IMHO.

Would it be possible to make the colors configurable by the users? Or would that be too difficult, as I imagine a lot of people have their own preference.

Out of the question? I had assumed it was configurable by the forum admin. But how is it out of the question? It's the standard color for in-game on steam and to be perfectly honest I think anything else is obtuse and out of the question :p (and nobody seemed to mind it for all those months we had it here)

The "Steam Community"-green would make the text hard to read, because it's for dark backgrounds. But there's a theme for the original look, too.
Individual theme settings are possible, but a bit difficult with the forum system around.

Edit: Looks like the script won't work for quick-posts, because they're created in a similar way as the profile status.

Orange sappin' mah green.
But I honestly don't see any major difference with this, except that the ^ arrow is replaced by a sliding thing.
And that they load 10 times slower.
