This maps been my baby for the past two years. With beta 7 we're approaching completion, the next version will probably be the final.

Woah. Hawt.

I am VERY impressed with the lighting! It looks like you've achieved the much attempted, rarely successful dark atmosphere with playable lighting (so many new mappers aspire to darkness, so many make it unplayable). I think I'm gonna go run around in this one.

Wow, this map looks awesome. I bet it plays really well, I'll have to play this sometime but at the moment, I'm dieing of a fishy smell....

I'll check this out, been a while since I played this map. I hope the gameplay changes are good, because I remember hating this map when it used to be so easy to defend point 1-2 and the rest of the stages were pretty easy to defend too. I've been wondering where this was, it seemed to have dropped off the face of the planet.

I'm not that good at promoting, you can blame the lack of information on that.

When I complete a beta I usually switch projects, so I can come back in a week with a fresh view.

I did post about this a long time ago in the old WIP forum, I was less than civil about shrinking the custom skybox to keep the filesize managable. I talked to Fishbus and he asked me to use the pipeline skybox instead, which halved the filesize.

Hehe I can remember playing early betas of this map back in the day when I hadn't heard of tf2maps and falling in love with this after I downloaded it off FPSB. (This was back in the days when Egypt and Boulder were the best customs and junction was virtually sent by Gabe himself)

That said, I love that you're still making progress here and refining it further! The map always seemed to have that smell all of the older customs had, that the mappers were vaguely unaware of what was possible and what was within the TF2 realm. Now, however, I can see huge improvements in the map from just the screenshots alone! I'm very much looking forward to having another A/D map! :3

I've had a few tests over the weekend and results were overwhelmingly positive. However, a list of bugs has come up :( If you guys find anything, let me know!

Playtesting!

For those of you not lucky enough to own your own server, the latest beta of industrial (7) is open for play on:

-The Lost Continents (5 servers, US)
-The House of Men (US)
-Knifeback Mountain (Europe)

Any of the admins there would be glad to set up a few games on industrial.

This is one of the best community maps I've played in a while and deserves a lot more attention than its getting. The map is well structured, well balanced and looks fantastic. It's also a much better map than some of the community maps that Valve have included in there updates.

If you have a server please upload this and add it to the map rotation or join one of the servers mentioned above.

This map is well worth playing, the map is not only good looking but plays solidly and has had a good development cycle. The entire map makes logical sense and is a lot of fun and challenging to play.

I think this would be it, but absurdistof, little comments like that really need to be backed up by playing the map. Industrial is one of the strongest layout A/D maps and adding a gravel brush isn't going to change that.

Although my server hosts Arena/KoTh maps, sometimes when we grow tired of them (it doesn't happen often :p) we load up attack/defend maps like this because it is my favorite mode aside from Arena.

I absolutely LOVE this map, I will have more critiqueful (lol new word) thoughts on it at another time when I am more free but I absolutely am in love with this one and have been telling a lot of other server about it. Keep up the work on it, its really paying off!
