After months of work, I'm finally ready to release the first beta of my Team Fortress 2 map. It would be great if you downloaded it and played it and posted any feedback.

The map was started near the beginning of this year. At that time, it was nothing but a gas station with some rocks around it. Since then, its gone through innumerable changes, including almost every gameplay mode there is (ctf, cp, pl, tc). The theme of the map has also changed considerably over that time. At the beginning, the Vegas theme was not even around, and the map was instead going to fit an area-51 feel, complete with a farm and a military base. Once I decided that Vegas would make a great addition to the map, the other areas were dropped, and most of the map remade from scratch. The map then began to take shape as it looks now, though as a single-cart payload map. When the Payload Race update came, I knew it would be the best fit for the map though, and one final revision later, I was happy with the layout.

Anyways, as I said, give it a play through, and please let me know if you have feedback.

Alright, after a quick singleplayer run-through as a scout, I can say this:

1) Make it more obvious you have to push the cars, and where those cars are located, I got lost a few times.

2) Raise the ceiling of the final cap section 2, I got caught standing on the car when it capped and I couldn't move

3) Dont just kill the doors in the beginning of section two, make them metal and have them slide down is a good alternative

4) The cars would look great with a moving animation (wheels, tail lights and such)

5) It fucking rocks

Looks amazing. Here is what I think after a short run-through:


  1. It's not very apparent you are pushing cars.
    • It's also not very apparent the track they are following.
    • It mentions car in the description of the map, but that's it.
    • I couldn't actually find the cars to begin with anyway.
  2. Have you considered a darker skybox? Really go well with the Vegas "nightlife" aspect.
  3. The advantage for winning a round is too small. Valve have found that a greater advantage (like in Pipeline) is best.
  4. Why is the setup time in round 1 so small?
  5. Need more arrows and directional signage. What about a car icon instead of the cart one?
  6. Some ceilings are too low, and some roofs are needlessly player-clipped off.
  7. Car movement is sometimes jerky, although that can't really be helped.

Hmm this path is not wide enough, I'd suggest it needs at least 2 Player widths. Otherwise spies will hate you and Pyros will love you.

Apart from those small points, this map is god-tier and I love it. :D

Have you ever even been to Vegas? I mean honestly, this is the worst rendition I've ever seen. There aren't any rocks around the Vegas sign. It's in the middle of a road! $3.00 for gas in 1960? I don't think so! Terrible, terrible. Come back again when you don't suck at faithfully re-creating famous landmarks.

He's spent several months making this map. He will release the models if he wants but many of them will not make much sense anywhere else.

Oh wow - this is - wow.

Highly custom content that's on theme?

I am impressed, sir.

Map itself has some issues (everything I think I would have said has been covered), but you can fix most of what's been raised easily (since you're having the teams push cars, might I suggest more definite road stripes or some such along their path? Tracks would prolly be out of place, but its nice to see where the 'cart' goes) and again - woah. Nice work!

Wow, this map is amazing. The custom content is fantastic and most of the areas shown in the screenshots look great! I really really hope this map does well, looks like a lot of effort to get this far :D

Very nice work. You captured the atmosphere of the theme perfectly.

For the problem of understanding your objectives, I would suggest using highway signs to inform players where things are. They would fit in with the theme perfectly. Also, You need to add more lights in the tunnels, they are too dark in spots. Areas of total darkness make identifying enemies impossible at times.

I have played this map a few times now on my server (which no1 cares about but here's link 2 the fun clan i made (yes this is mainly cuz i want my servers to be big where people can have fun and test maps we think look good) would say but steams down :()
