its not big enough that you would, or should get any credit for the map... changing 0.001% of the map still leaves valve with 99.999% which is damn near 100%, so much so that it might as well be 100%.
It isn't even a "different" dustbowl! It is balanced Exactly the same! I could screw with the color settings on my monitor, it doesn't make granary any better.
The reason people could even remotely enjoy it is they like dustbowl, and it saves them from turning their monitor brightness down.
My suggestion to anyone who thinks this is a good idea: Move your monitor in front of a window, open the blinds, and play after sundown.
Things like this are several things.
1- a waste of a "potential mapper's" time. (potential mapper as this isn't really mapping)
2- a waste of Hard drive space. Use that space for unique maps, even if you have a big hard drive, why clutter it with different colors of all the maps (essentially). You don't need a night version, sunset version, underwater version, upside down version, orange version, becker version (all wall textures replaced with pictures of Ted Danson), and any other version you can think of, for the map Dustbowl, or any other stock map you can think of.
3- A waste of a server... Really, there's already tons of servers running dustbowl, do we need to start trying to clog servers with night dustbowl, making us wait and download it just to realize its the same map, but with different colors? I personally think there should be a better filter system on steam so I don't have to scroll past maps running crap like this.
Anyways, the only way I would ever support something like this is... 1-if it was only used for practice (delete all the lights and light the level from scratch for practice) and 2- it were NEVER released.
It's like taking a print of the Mona Lisa, painting lipstick on her (or him, very androgynous) and proclaiming you have completed a great work of art.
