There's a new hero in town, from the depths of Boston, and he's not here to free princesses, step on mushrooms, or exterminate turtles. He's here to kill crabs.

Spy Crabs.


Enter Scout, the furious and fleet-of-foot force-of-nature, hell-bent on knocking the nefarious Dr. Dispenso's plans of a BLU uprsinging out of the park.

In this genre-bending new singleplayer map, you'll find yourself stomping crabs and hopping platforms instead of capping points or defending hills.

Please let me know what you think!

NOTES: You must pick RED and Scout. Work is being done to make this automatic. Please bear with me.

This is quite an interesting idea, and quite well done, too. However, as with anything of this nature, it is filled with bugs and is very cumbersome to play, though this may be smoothed out in future releases. Killing spycrabs is a cool idea, but it doesn't feel right that they just dissapear. Also, taunting causes you to return to first person view.

So the mouse isn't locked or anything, so I found it really helpful to look away from the screen and playing using the strafe keys and jump. Also crouch.

It worked pretty well, actually, and I think the spycrabs will be way better once you get the prop for them and I can't wait to see what else you do with this. =P

Yes, TF2 dosn't like it when you want to do something right.

Killing spycrabs is a cool idea, but it doesn't feel right that they just dissapear.
It's just a quick mock up, so the finished this will have a custom prop and killing animation.

Anyone for Street Fortress?

Played though the map earlier, and while it was short and easy, it was extremely cool. As long as you release a prefab for the gamemode when done :D I think everyone here will be happy.

Here I was expecting posts to say "Too many bugs- why'd you release this?"

I'm glad you all like it. I really am.

However, please give specifics if you have bug reports, don't just announce that there are bugs.

As long as you release a prefab for the gamemode when done :D I think everyone here will be happy.

This is likely to happen. ihave interest in level desiigning from one MangyCarface, as well as other member of the community.

Just tried this and I have to say this is a really interesting concept

My BIGGEST complaint which really was kinda game breaking for me was the way controls are set up. I know there really isn't much you can do about this, but given the forced third person, and the fact that my mouse could move which way I looked made it REALLY hard to get the keys right. Sometimes my left would take me right, up left, then right, and it just got bothersome.

You might need to change perspective for this to work, maybe go with a bit more of the mario 64 approach where the camera is just above and behind the scout? That way when I press forward, I actually go forward!

Still, its a cool concept! Can't wait to see where you go with it.

Another enemy should be the POW-ing heavy. You need to double-jump over his POW shots.

Chopsticks: I have an interesting idea to fix this.

Look forward to Apha 0A for some cool fixes to that and other complaints.

Also, whatever happens do not add support for full multiplayer on a 2d surface using the normal Valve maps, because you would just be making Gang Garrison 2.
