Most of you probably know already, but many of the servers are currently banning players that join with halos, or players that don’t have halos. Personally I find this extremely childish.

How many servers were around where if you joined with a hat you were banned? The only difference now is people think you're completely different to them because of a free hat given to you for not 'cheating'

The idler is a form of cheating to me. Faking TF2 being run to gain hats gives no advantage over players, but the idler doesn't just find hats. People could've been using it to get weapons they needed, or thought would be useful to trade multiples of later on.

If you run one of these servers where you are banning halo/non halo players...think about it seriously. Don't act like a child-oh wait...

Thats a fairly dick move if you do that.

It's also a dick move to not heal someone based on what they didn't do that you perhaps did, or on what they did do.

Now I have a halo, and I personally like it. I DON'T WANT TO BE BANNED FROM SERVERS FOR WEARING A HAT THAT SIGNIFIES HAT I DIDN'T USE AN EXTERNAL IDLING PROGRAM D:.

I just want to wear my hat and flaregun people in peace, while laughing evilly.

Well I've just managed to join 4 servers each that allow halo's. Pretty hard to find a server that will kick people becuase they have a halo. But my friend said he was banned from a server for not having a halo.

There are servers out there I do believe that do it, I just hope there isn't so many that it really does split the community like people think it will.

It's like the Star-bellied-Sneeches!!! We must push for equality in TF2.

Give it a week.

Quoted for truth.
People will forget that the halos had any significance, those who hold it as evidence of their superiority will be ignored and lost interest, those who are jealous and upset at losing their items will regain their lost things or simply forget about them in favor of enjoying the game for what it is, and all will be normal again.

Exactly! Man, I'd forgotten about that story, but it fits so perfectly here.

-----------

I joined one of my usual servers yesterday and had the wonderful fortune of encountering someone who kept spamming the text chat with "Healers Against Halos" ads (a group devoted to griefing as Medic against people with the halo, for the uninformed). I'm still very thankful he was on the other team, so I neither had to deal with his griefing or put up with whatever he might have been putting into the voice chat. :p He either got kicked for spamming or just left of his own free will because the only responses he got were either being totally ignored or being told to stop spamming. I didn't see which, but either way he only lasted about 10 minutes. :O

I was relieved to find that the only other communication or behavior having anything to do with halos on that server were newbies occasionally asking what they were, receiving an explanation, and responding with something along the lines of "oh, cool." Proof that there are sane people left playing the game. :)

This is a good thing

Now you know right away the servers full of children, where you're not going to enjoy yourself. I had to compile my favorites list the hard way

Hell, they'll even help you out by banning you, so you don't go back in by accident

Ah, I thought the "Give it a week" comment was referring to my post of "I just hope there isn't so many that it really does split the community like people think it will."

I suppose in both cases the chances of it happening are equal. We all know what the people on Steam Forums are like. They're still complaining about not getting any hats.

/ban for making a paradox.

EDIT: How is this for an idea, people keep the Halos but everyone who did idle gets devil horns! They will be even more rare. :p

You've seen what the halo's done. Adding devils horn would be like rewarding the idlers even more than rewarding the non-idlers.

They would probably look better and people without halos already think they themeselves are special and rare becuase they don't have a halo...they think they as a player are rare...becuase they don't wear a hat...yet at any second we could not wear the halo...WTF RAGE...

What I'm wondering is what would happen if you had a halo and didn't equip it on certain classes, which you then proceed to play. Would they ban you for not having it/being a cheater?

I read on steam Forums that someone didn't have a halo. They said they had it, just didn't equip it but still got banned.

I suppose if you're not weaing the halo, you don't have one. Becuase chances are most people now don't have a hat excluding the halo

I think I'm rare because I'm one of 4.5% that don't have a halo. :/

At the same time, in regards to the Hah! group, I support it. (which is hilarious when I still top the charts of a server and have a k/d ratio that's over 1). But I only disregard those without halos when they're being pricks about it (creative use of names against those who don't have halos, badmouthing other players in server, etc.). I stand by the creed of healing everyone when needed, but I am human in the sense that I don't like jerks.
