3D view glitches?

So I recently re-installed the SDK on my laptop. It's not the greatest laptop. 2GB RAM and an 8200m. Whenever I use hammer, at random intervals, the 3D view will slant and zoom in. The only way I found to fix it is to wiggle my mouse around randomly until it goes back to normal.

[pics as soon as I can catch it in a print screen without it resetting]

There's also this thing with textures where when I'm resizing it , or if I look at it funny, it does this slanty thing...

Is there a way to fix these? What's causing it?

It happens randomly at certain angles if you have used a self-rotating material nearby. These are usually the clear and green diamond-patterned wire reinforced glass.

It's a bother but isn't a problem in the end or anything.

Happens to me when I view the 3d view in shaded textured view. Doesn't happen if I just have 3d textured.

What's the problem in the 2nd pic?

That's the exact same place, I didn't move the camera at all. It basically zoomed in and slanted. using the wasd controls are slanted, eveything is at an angle. I've no idea why it does it. I'll just be sitting here not even touching my computer, and it happens.

Youme: I'm not sure what you mean by game overlay.

He means the In-Game Steam Community overlay.

You know, the gameoverlayui.exe that runs for all steam things that you can press a shortcut to bring up the steam community in game, turn that off.

I've gotten the slant bug too, usually on startup.

I can usually make it go away, by clicking in the upper-left of the 3D viewport (where it says "Camera" in white) and changing it around to one of the 2D views and back.

I've never seen that enabled on Hammer. Pressing shift-tab toggles between the three 2D views.

Ctrl+alt+del -> Processes -> gameoverlayui.exe -> end process

This bugs back again then is it?

Dont bother end the process, just disable it outright, its not exactly a useful feature of steam anyhow.
And it doesn't make any difference that it's not enabled in hammer, to my knowledge the exe still runs regardless. and this IS the fix to that bug, its an old one.

AFAIK the .exe still runs for me whenever I'm in hammer. I haven't disabled it but just incase I need to...how?

Go to Steam settings. The option to disable the overlay is in one of the tabs.
