    I recently realized that I have been playing this game for 5 years. I was 12 when I first started playing TF2. I've been involved with TF2 for a third of my life. When I started playing, people still thought that the Heavy update was supposed to come out later that year. This is messing up my perception of time :(

    This is pretty much exactly what happened for me, I started playing TF2 in December 2015 which was before I'd even turned 12.
    I (briefly) played during the quickplay days where matches on sd_doomsday or ctf_hellfire weren't impossible to find and you could play Arena maps on Valve servers (although few people did).

    Taking feedback into account for Urise. Consensus seems to be that A and B are alright but C and D are chokey helly messes. Majority of minor changes are done, will try to fix C and may rework D. Thank you to everyone who left feedback during the imp ^_^

    Disappointed in my lack of ability to map properly. Alpha maps on here are detailed and I can barely bring myself to make the basic layout.

    I love how for a3 of my map I have to make physical blockades to prevent red from going to C during setup because people cant read signs lol

    Everyone's first maps are destined to be pretty bad, hell I've been mapping for three years and haven't made a map I'm happy with. So long as you're improving and enjoy the process it's very rewarding, although if you think mapping isn't for you, stopping is always an option.

    You've enjoyed making maps, otherwise why would you map. You map because you enjoy it. Enjoy the journey, otherwise the destination wasn't really worth it. One day a map will stick and people will enjoy it.
    So for now, don't worry about the future, just load up hammer, put some music on and just start putting curser to grid.

    (2/3) ...Due to poor design. The only one that's had any kind of success is pl_lumber, but even then i hit a roadblock (huge sightline)

    (1/3) I might quit mapping for real this time. I've had like 6 designs in the past few months and I failed to build 5 of them.

    Also, I came up with a new strategy; if A1 of a new map isn't met with at least 50% positive feedback, I give up on it.
