OK, just throwing out random ideas now: Try booting in safe mode, with no network connection, and seeing if you crash. Maybe you're stuck in an update/restart loop or have a bad piece of software. Try booting Memtest86 and testing your RAM with it, see if anything's wrong there. If you have...

Try downloading HWMonitor and using it to check the temps on your CPU/GPU right around the time of crash. Maybe the computer needs some dusting?

I need some help with hammer

Have you been moving around or deleting VMF files while hammer was still open? That's the only way I can get it to happen on my end. Maybe try restarting everything (computer, steam, TF2, and hammer) and reloading your vmf?

I need some help with hammer

It means that one of your files was broken and Steam downloaded a fresh copy. Try compiling with hammer now.

I need some help with hammer

Try verifying your game files: https://support.steampowered.com/images/faq/client/verifygcf2.gif. Maybe something's borked that's preventing bsp from running.

I need some help with hammer

Are you using the version of hammer packaged with TF2 (at Team Fortress 2\bin\hammer.exe)?

Do you have "Run BSP" set to Normal in the menu you get before starting the compile?

    HTC Vive - My Impressions

So far I've only tried two games in the Vive that weren't initially native: Minecraft (with the Vivecraft mod), and Mind: Path to Thalamus (for like 15 minutes). Minecraft took a little getting used to. There are options for both teleporting and artificial locomotion, and I actually ended up...

Which community update would you like to see besides frontline?

I mentioned it in an imp the other day, but I think it'd be neat to see a handful of Mayann, Frontline, and Ye Olde Workshoppe content all wrapped up in a "time machine" update or something.

    HTC Vive - My Impressions

On top of that, I feel like there's potential for new sorts of interaction in VR that you wouldn't get by just porting a traditional game. In VR, you can reach up, kneel, crawl around, dodge with your body, use weapons physically, etc. You can grab, manipulate, and examine objects carefully to...

    I'm having problems with Walkway

Are you sure the map file is in the correct folder? It should be in either Team Fortress 2/tf/maps or Team Fortress 2/tf/download/maps. Was the map compressed when you downloaded it? If the file you downloaded is a .zip, .7z, .rar, or .bz2, then you need to uncompress it and extract the .bsp...

    HTC Vive - My Impressions

I've been meaning to, along with like 20 other games and other things. I've only done one multiplayer thing in VR and that was co-op in Out of Ammo. It's surreal seeing another head and pair of hands there. Especially when you're on the ground shooting enemies and the hands are giant and 50 feet...

    HTC Vive - My Impressions

After following the VR stuffs for the past few years, I finally grabbed a Vive last week. I haven't spent as much time as I'd like with it, due to general life busyness, but I figured I'd talk about my personal initial impressions. First off, the burning question: Does it work? Does it really...

    "Broken" Downloads

So, I tried updating one of my maps with an external download location, whereas the previous version was directly uploaded to the site. The "Download" button did not change, still showing "0 .", and still directing users to a broken link. I had to upload a new file to the website, at which point...
