We re currently devloping a mod for TF2 that bring TF2 back to its roots as qwtf and tfc were played. We are currently have coder and 2 map designers. We are looking for experienced coders and modelers to join our team. E-mail me on jm.jobz@gmail.com if you are interested.

* Throwable Grenades for all classes
* Bunny Hopping, Trimping, and related movement abilities
* Medic's Bioweapon
* Armour for all classes, in addition to health.

Looks like soldier pretty much dominates. Not to mention there's hardly really any fighting since it's so easy to grab and go.

if you played quakeworld teamfortress or TFC you would understand how well the gameplay works.

I would say bunny hopping and other such things were actually problems with TFC that were left in so people wouldn't cry.

and does Fortress Forever not do it for you that you're trying to make your own?

no fortress forever was a great game but had really bad art work. There is a huge tf2 community and as this is a server side mod people who have tf2 can join a server with this mod easily. Also TFC was was based on qwtf and was designed from the ground up to have bunnyhoppin and all the rest as it was so sucessful.

bunny hopping and conc jumping make no sense to me, and therefor keep me away from such games, I stopped playing TFC when they became popular. To a lesser degree rocket jumping is the same thing, but they've limited its usefulness as it doesn't rocket you that high and it hurts you.

I never understood why jumping really fast would make you run faster. Especially when all the other FPS games I've played in the past (excluding UT) gave accuracy penalties for crap like that.

The FF art content is good. Granted it's not up to professional level, but it's still very good.

TF2 having a huge community is meaningless. That is TF2's community, most of which will not want to play on servers that drastically change the game.

TFC was not designed from the ground up to have bunny hopping. It was, as in the original, a side-effect of the engine, the same side-effect in fact, since HL was built off of a modification of the quake engine.

Don't like it, so I won't play it.

But, why is this thread here? This isn't a model or a texture. Also, I'm really confused by how you're promising visual improvements..? Is changing the FOV like you have in the videos considered a visual improvement or are you also going to be changing the models/textures?

Also, as an avid TFC player (Okay, not so much anymore, just because it's only bots), I don't see any of the TFC in this. I never played qwtf, but it looks like you're aiming for that group of people more than the TFC group.

EDIT: Also I agree with ABS, FF's artwork is pretty nice looking.

Wow, if TFC actually played like in those videos, I'm glad I never tried it. It just looks... dumb. The way you move, the huuuge FOV... I'm sorry, I understand that some people want the nostalgic feeling of playing TFC again, but you're not going to draw any new crowds to this, despite TF2's huge fanbase.

EDIT: Also, "don't like it don't play it" isn't really a valid argument. I'm not going to play it, but I have every right to criticise it regardless.

I'll be honest, I didn't like TFC half as much as TF2.

But, this looks really nice and the fact is you put work into it. And for that I applaud you.

Umm, yeah, I should probably mention that it seems technically well made, as Penguin's post reminded me. I looked at some videos of TFC (most of what I found was "lol awesome conc jumping!!1"), and it does indeed look very similar.

32man instant respawn servers would like to have a word with you. (or what about the less popular "right click gives you ammo as engineer and medics leave health packs when they die mod)

Either way, TFC was fun but not nearly as fun as TF2. Really only Quake World, Quake 3, Threewave, and CPMA really ever felt RIGHT with strafejumping.

This along with grenades is probably why I didn't enjoy TFC

I installed TFC just for fun a few weeks ago and started playing - but I died everytime so fast I just couldn't react properly. Also, the grenade spam is just annoying. To say it with AVGN's words: "What were they thinking??".

I accept that many TFC-players like that style of gameplay, but I love my slower paced TF2 more.

This mod has the exact same physics of cpma so bunnyhopping is the same.
