Here's a map I've been working on for a couple months. It came from wanting to do something more with gameplay than I get to do at work where I am an environment artist. As such there's very few custom models/textures included, just the stove and walls for the log cabin. I've tested it out at work for 6-8 people and no major issues came up. Please let me know if you find a bug or just have any general feedback on it.

I've gotta say that this is one fantastic map! I walked around it yesterday when Snipergen posted a link to it in the forums, and it's some of the finest detailing I've ever seen! The log cabin is especially mine'd-blowing! :p

The middle building seems very well designed but I haven't had the pleasure of playing it with people yet to see whether or not the gameplay is balanced.

I can't wait to see your future mapping projects! Here's hoping that you either make another map or turn this one into a full 5CP map!

Do people just say things look nice and not comment on gameplay? I think due to the size it broken. I'm sure you can do something brilliant to make it bigger.

Very nice detailed! I ran around the map and I just loove the looks and especially the spawn! The only bad thing I could see about the looks was the metalthingies lying around on the balcony outside at the middlehouse (thumbnail 4). I guess you were just trying to clarify it's not possible to get there but they don't look good and I think ppl will understand that anyway..

First thumbnail:
I want to be able to get up there! It's pretty low and I can't see any reason for restraining that area..

Second and Third:
I think there are too little routes around the map and middle house, this is just an proposal but you could try to make a balcony (one on each side ofc) to create some height differences and atleast one more route :)

Also in the second thumbnail you haven't clipped the balconies there, but u have clipped them on the outside. You should either clip both the inside or the outside or remove the clipping on the outside (could be interesting if you removed the clipping). And you should but a door at the balcony direct above me in the second picture because now it's just black texture.

Note that I haven't actually played the map with ppl, this is just what I think from looking at it of my own.

Lazy Eskimo: Have you played it, or is this just from looking at it? I've only ever played it with 3vs3 so I don't know how things would be with more players yet.

Psyphil: Thanks for the in-depth comments :) The first thumbnail was to stop the player from jumping up to the opposing cliff, but I suppose it might be alright if you could get onto the shed first then get stopped at the cliff. For the other stuff, I think I'll leave that for if/when I made a version for another game mode, I'm mostly just wanting to fix things that are bad at the moment and not add much else.

I forgot to mention one thing, the spawn is waay too far from the middle building. As the changes I mention before were optional this is one thing that rly should be changed. Since in arena you spawn over and over again and people will be tired to run all that way every time perhaps just to get killed the moment you get there, and even if u don't you will get tired of it.

After further playtesting, it's clear that the capture time is insanely fast. It needs to be quadrupled, at the very least.

I went into spec and looked around. I'm basing what I said off of good knowledge of gameplay in tf2.

It plays very well in a 15v15 setting. No solid feedback right now, but the map is in good shape.

NO! I have never seen a map that can play 15v15 without degrading tf2 some. Thing is it's just too cramped. Your shoulder to shoulder with everyone on your team. When you try to go somewhere you have to spam your way through with the many players on enemy side. Scouts suck really bad cause there's no way to flank there's no way to move around just run head on into rockets. There's a reason why you have to use a mod to go over 24 people for server. Coalmine is a tiny map too.
