So I'm trying to use GCFscape to transfer some rd_asteriod/moonbase assets to a tf2 mod. The problem is I figured out how to transfer the models themselves, but I don't know where to transfer the model textures from, so it just shows up as an error texture on the model:

Any suggestions? As always, any help is appreciated.

I'm sure you know where the textures are, but just in-case, it's in "tf2_textures_dir.vpk" in the main tf folder.

You will likely need the .vmt file, too. That's in "tf2_misc_dir.vpk" in the same folder--tf.

As for where the textures go for the models, place them in the same directory as the file you extract.

That should do it. Unless I misunderstood.

Thanks for the help. Unfortunately, I still shows up as a error texture, even though I copied both files like you said. Is there a specific folder where the model textures only are stored?

Model textures and materials are usually stored in tf/materials/models/props_<whatever>/.

Would I extract the models texture files in the /models folder or in the /materials folder? Also, is it bad if I'm trying to extract the model files to my custom folder(in the mod)?
