Hi!

I'm a newbie mapper and I'm here because I want to learn to map better, and I've been here and there before using various tutorials on these forums. They're all really good, and I want to improve my skill and release better maps!

I go by Emeriastone or Manqueef (it's a long story), and I've been making maps in Hammer for about year now, and mostly I developed gungame maps for my community's gungame server, which I manage and run for fun!

TF2 mapping is somewhat new for me, but I'm familiar with most of the concepts. I've only really got one TF2 map out there, but plenty of CS:S GG maps. All of my released stuff is on FPSBanana.com, http://www.fpsbanana.com/members/subs/253555

I feel I am a novice mapper at best, self taught and aimless, usually doing things the wrong way first before doing them right. I am ready to help out any way I can, and learn and contribute!

...usually doing things the wrong way first before doing them right.

Hey, much of the time I find it's not good enough simply to know what's right and do it. It's better to also know what's wrong, why it's wrong, and why the right way is in fact the right way. Doing things the wrong way first (in anything, not just mapping) is often a very effective way of achieving a more thorough understanding.

TF2 mapping is certainly different from mapping for other games, but if you've got the basics down you'll get used to it. And hey, you've already found the best mapping community around for help and support. We're glad to have you with us!
