An update to Team Fortress 2 has been released. The update will be applied automatically when you restart Team Fortress 2. The major changes include:
  • Fixed a security issue related to the file system (thanks to Simon Pinfold for this report)
  • Fixed a client crash related to the material system
  • Fixed a crash when using medium or low texture quality on maps with static prop lighting
  • Fixed not seeing team names when using custom scoreboards
  • Fixed leaderboards occasionally not displaying when changing map
  • Improved bspzip tool stability when packing maps with large amounts of custom assets
  • Updated the contents of the Gargoyle Case, the Fall 2013 Acorns Crate, the Love And War Cosmetics Bundle, the Mann Co. Strongbox, and the Mann Co. Stockpile Crate
  • Updated the model/materials for the Crusader's Getup and Arthropod's Aspect
  • Updated The HazMat Headcase so it can be equipped by the Sniper
  • Updated The Mustachioed Mann so it can be equipped by all classes and added a second style
  • Updated The Special Eyes so it can be equipped by the Pyro and added a second style
  • Updated The Frenchman's Formals to hide the Scout's dog-tags
  • Updated the equip_region for the Cheater's Lament and added a new style
  • Updated the Backburner to add the pilot light
  • Updated the Rainblower to remove the pilot light
  • Updated several materials to fix issues caused by mat_picmip
  • Updated the localization files
  • Updated pl_borneo
    • Fixed an exploit where players could get outside the map
  • Updated ctf_landfall
    • Fixed some material issues
  • Updated cp_vanguard
    • Added new path to the last point
    • New geometry to reduce sightlines on the middle point
    • Reorganized spawn points to better exit final spawns
    • Fixed Red forward spawn door blocking when held open
    • Fixed some material issues

That's fixed.

What's also fixed is the out-of-memory issues plaguing OS X while on high settings. Still. It's using over 2GB at an offline server which is too close to the 2.3GB crash mark, and ultra texture settings still isn't enabled. But it's a step in the right direction. After 8 months. About time.

Wish they'd add new styles to some of the hats so we can choose to repaint the team color instead of the yellow trim...

The creator put it in as a joke expecting it to get declined, its almost a straight copy+paste job, so the colours dont even match sniper and it has Pyro's head silhouette

But Valve liked it and signed off on it anyway?

Oh,LOOK! They fixed an exploit where you can crouch on a random stage so you can bug yourself and build outside of the Borneo map!

Now we need the same fix on Freight,Dustbowl,Barnblitz,Gravelpit and who knows what other maps..

That bug is a Source bug, not a map bug or a TF2 bug. It's on EVERY source game. (except maybe alien swarm)

You can bug through the side of the ramp at second on Vanguard now apparently.

You can Schrödinger's crouch with every ramp you can go under in every map in the game, custom or stock.

We'll probably see more maps get updated so that ramps get blocked off so this exploit is "fixed" for a while. That is, until people find a new way to do it. Best thing would be to fix it in the engine itself, but that means messing with the engine on a very deep level, something you probably shouldn't do in an engine that's over 10 years old.

Doesn't it rely on setting a teleporter somewhere weird? Perhaps they could fix it by restricting teleporter placement more, making the exit require more space above and around to be set down.

Nope. Can crouch. We have the issue in black mesa. Normally you design around these things.
